The South China tiger, also known as the Chinese tiger, is one of the top ten endangered animals in China and is under first-class state protection. Now, the remaining 200 tigers are all raised in captivity.

华南虎是我国独有虎种，位居中国十大濒危动物之首，属于国家一级保护动物，目前全国仅存200多只，所有均为人工饲养。

On March 24 this year, a new female South China tiger cub was born at the Shaoguan South China Tiger Breeding Research Base. It will soon go to “kindergarten” to learn survival skills such as climbing and hunting. 

今年3月24日，韶关华南虎繁育研究基地诞生一只雌性幼虎。这只可爱“虎妞”前往基地的“幼儿园”，学习生存本领，接受攀爬扑食的技能训练。

The research base is expected to continue the breeding work, which will promote the development of the South China tiger species and the protection of biodiversity.

繁育基地也将继续华南虎饲养繁育研究工作，促进华南虎种群的发展，保护生物多样性。
