An important discovery wasmadein the Dachuoding Provincial Nature Reserve, Huaiji, which is the first recorded distribution in Guangdong Province. 

广东怀集大稠顶省级自然保护区科学考察工作再次取得重要发现——西南齿唇兰（Odontochilus elwesii），这是广东省首次分布记录。

The Dachuoding protected area is rich in wildlife resources, and the discovery of this species fills the geographical gap between Guangxi and Fujian of China.

大稠顶保护区域内野生动植物资源丰富，此次发现西南齿唇兰的分布，填补了其在中国广西与福建之间的分布地域空缺。
