The imperial examination system was the basic system for selecting officials in ancient China. Because the examination was strict, winning the title in the imperial examination became one of the four great joys of someone’s life. 

科举制度是中国古代考试选拔官员的基本制度，因为得来不易，“金榜题名时”也成为人生四大喜之一。

Among them, the highest honor is “Zhuangyuan” (1st Place). 

其中，最高的荣誉非“状元”莫属。

In the past 1300 years, there were 9 “Zhuangyuan” in literature and 5 “Zhuangyuan” in martial arts in Guangdong. Their names have been engraved in the annals of history.
