Salt is one of our compulsory products. For many of the Chinese, this saying applies, “no salt, no Chinese food”. 

盐，是人们生活中必不可少的调味品。甚至对大部分中国人来说“无盐，无中餐”。

Located in the confluence of the Qiongzhou Strait and Beibu Gulf, Zhanjiang’s Natural Salt Lake is like “a gift from the sea”. 

在广东本地自产的盐大多来自海洋的馈赠，湛江的天然盐场位于琼州海峡与北部湾交汇处。

Here, common people make a living by the production of salt. Their craftmanship and techniques have been passed down from one generation to the next for more than 160 years. 

在这里一代又一代的劳动人民以晒制海盐为生，一道道古法工序传承至今已有160余年的历史。

In the evening, this Salt Lake is so clear it sometimes acts like a mirror, reflecting the vast sky, unveiling its breathtaking scenery in the twilight of dusk.

暮色渐沉，晚霞满天，一片片盐田水平如镜，倒映出天上的彩霞，一堆堆洁白的盐垛也被镀上一层炫彩的外衣。
